Surgery

West Point Animal Clinic is not just a healthcare provider for animals; it is also a veterinary surgical center. Our practice serves the surgical needs of pets in the West Point, Starkville, Aberdeen, and Columbus areas of Mississippi. West Point Animal Clinic offers numerous types of surgeries on campus including:

  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Foreign Object removal
  • Spays&Neuters
  • Dental surgery

Many other operations are conducted as well; in the event, you don’t see the procedure you feel your pet may need, please contact us for a consultation.

If surgery is deemed necessary to ensure your pet’s safety and good health, our veterinarians and staff will take the utmost care of your beloved pet. Blood work is always recommended before any surgical procedure, to determine if a pet may have an underlying issue not evidenced by physical exam alone. Once sedated, your pet will have their blood pressure, heart rate and breathing rate monitored throughout the surgery. Once the surgery is complete, your pet will be brought out of anesthesia and their vital signs monitored as well as pain levels. West Point Animal Clinic will keep your pet onsite in our kennels where the veterinarian can supervise their recovery until they are deemed well enough to go home with their owners. All surgeries are followed up with a post-surgical examination and rehabilitation if needed.

Whether your pet is of the age to be spayed or neutered or is a facing a complicated procedure, the veterinarians and staff at West Point Animal Clinic are here for you and your pet. Contact us today for more information.
